Olav B. BergheimMr. Bergheim currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vessix Vascular and has more than 30 years of experience in creating and managing life science companies. Prior to starting Fjord Ventures in 2005, Mr. Bergheim was general partner of Domain Associates. Mr. Bergheim's vast experience also includes nearly 20 years of general management positions at Baxter Healthcare, including as president of the $700-million Cardiovascular Group, as well as positions as president of Immunotherapy Worldwide, president of BioTech Europe, and president of Baxter Germany. Mr. Bergheim earned his BS and MS in pharmacy at the University of Oslo. He also completed the Executive Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Administration. Erik AmbleMr. Amble has extensive venture capital investing experience, the last 15 years in the healthcare and life science industry. He is currently managing partner at NeoMed, an international venture capital company he founded. Mr. Amble previously co-founded and was chairman of the Norwegian Venture Capital Association. He has been chairman of Genovision AS and Alertis Medical AS, and a board member of Clavis Pharma ASA and Thommen Medical AG. Mr. Amble is currently chairman of Sequana Medical AG. Mr. Amble holds a doctoral degree in organic chemistry from the University of Oslo and a Master of Science degree in Management from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. Raphael WisniewskiMr. Wisniewski joined the Life Sciences team of Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners in 2001. Raphaël Wisniewski worked in Healthcare Corporate Finance at Goldman Sachs starting at Salomon Smith Barney. He worked also in the Finance Department of General Healthcare in London, the private hospital group. Raphaël Wisniewski is a Director of Cellnovo, EOS Imaging, Genticel, Implanet, Novagali Pharma, MDx Health and Regado Biosciences. Raphaël is a graduate of the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Paris and holds a postgraduate diploma in Economics and Finance from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP), Paris. Vince BurgessMr. Burgess is currently a Venture Partner with OrbiMed. Mr. Burgess has over 20 years of experience in healthcare operations, business development and venture capital investment. Vince was on the founding executive team at Volcano Corp., where he was Group President, Advanced Imaging Systems, and also led global marketing and business development from 2002 to 2010. At Volcano, he was a key architect of the company's product, marketing and M&A/partnering strategies. During his tenure, Volcano grew from a raw start-up to a global company with over 1,000 employees and a market capitalization of over $1.2 billion. Previously, Mr. Burgess served as a general partner of San Diego-based Sorrento Ventures, focusing on the firm's healthcare investments. Vince also has prior operational and board level experience in the surgical tool, ophthalmology and health care IT fields. Mr. Burgess earned his MBA at the Anderson School at UCLA and his BS in Business Administration from USC. Matthew Weil, J.D.Mr. Weil was elected to the Board of Directors in September 2010. Mr. Weil joined Christopher Weil & Company, Inc., in January 2009 after nearly two decades as a lawyer in intellectual property matters, principally patent litigation. He is currently a registered investment advisor representative and a licensed real estate broker. Matthew serves as the Managing Director for CWC and General Counsel for CWC Asset Advisors, Inc. Before joining CWC, Matthew was a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. He is a past President of the Orange County Patent Law Association and a current Director of both the National Conflict Resolution Center and the Patricia & Christopher Weil Family Foundation. Matthew has a B.A. in History and Russian Language from the University of California, Davis, a Masters in Political Science from Columbia University, and a J.D. from University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. He is fluent in Russian. Raymond W. CohenMr. Cohen currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Vessix Vascular (see Management for more information) and was elected to the Board of Directors in November 2010. |
