The Vessix V2 Renal Denervation System™

Vessix has created a “second generation” percutaneous renal denervation system for the treatment of hypertensive patients. The V2 System consists of the V2 Catheter, a low pressure balloon catheter with RF electrodes mounted on the exterior of the balloon, the V2 Bipolar RF Generator and connecting cables. Once inserted into the renal artery, a 30 second inflation/treatment per renal artery delivers simultaneous RF therapy to all eight electrode pairs.

Faster, Easier Approach to Renal Denervation
  • Over-the-wire inflatable balloon catheter with mounted RF electrodes
  • Can be used by anyone with standard angioplasty skills. Fast interventionalist friendly procedure
  • Bipolar RF on Balloon – occludes blood flow allowing for directed energy flow into the adventitia without loss into bloodstream
  • Once inflated, no movement of balloon - all locations treated simultaneously. Radiopaque solid gold electrodes allow precise positioning – time < 1 min
  • RF Treatment time is 30 seconds at 68◦C
  • RF Generator is one button operation & battery powered (rechargeable)
  • RF Therapy is < 1 watts
  • Fast treatment time = minimal short lived pain for patient. Less exposure to radiation, minimal use of pain meds, contrast dye and lower renal toxicity
  • No patient grounding pad needed

The V2 catheter is available in various sizes and can accomodate renal artery diameters as small at 3.0 mm. The V2 Catheter connects directly to the V2 Generator, or by means of an optional non-sterile extension cable that is approximately 3 meters in length.
